I always told myself I would never buy one of these, but the price was right, so I bought this delightful mechanical clock is in the shape of an owl. The book is carved out of wood and the owl is made out of a composition material, it was made in Germany by the J. Oswald Company. Rolling eye clocks which were first patented in 1926. The eyes are the clock face with the hours on the left and the minutes to the right. It is in very good condition. It runs beautifully and keeps accurate time, it is a mechanical 30-hour movement so it requires winding daily. It is in a fully working condition, it measures Width 3.50'', Height 7'', Depth 4''
I love owls, how could you not love that face.
I've never seen anything like that before - how totally COOL it is!!! I'm not sure I'd even recognize it as a clock without seeing the backside, hope I haven't inadvertently ignored 'my own' somewhere in a junk store without realizing it?!!
