As followers may know I moved in an older Saskatchewan home built around 100 years ago by an English immigrant military man.
I've posted military stuff found in attic and this week found another hiding spot behind a chimney pipe. It contained this really nice cigarette tin (tax stamp dated 1897) and rattling around inside 2 partial dental plates, a 1916 Sterling /Enamel pin - Great War Veterans which predated the Royal Canadian Legion. A few other items which I'll post separately later.
Very nice
Egyptomania collectors love these old tins with conjectures of Egypt. I have several books on the subject. This one is in great shape.
Thanks to all, especially for the interesting comments. The quality of design I'm sure was the reason some people looked after these and they will be saved for future generations.
Very cool! reminds me of some Venetian candy boxes i found recently.
