A couple months ago, i was researching the Connecticut River where my family lives in NH and Vermont and i came upon this 1907 book. it's incredibly well-researched with loads of interesting history. I was very surprised when i saw the photo on page 98 - which is the view from my family's River House on the other side of the river in Vermont. My photos were taken from a little bit north - about 100 ft from where the 1907 photo was taken. My family's NH land starts just south of this rocky cliff, and goes for more than 2 miles along the river. I've been exploring this cliff since i was a kid. Some of the pines on top of the hill are among the tallest white pines alive anywhere.
That is so cool! I would have been very excited to see that as well. Such a beautiful view from your family home.
thank you jscotto!
