Titled 'Profit Jeasus Christ', i cracked up when i first picked this up at a second hand shop in Oakland yesterday. I bought it for a couple bucks. Was surprised to find out that Kotter Paloma is pretty well-known for his somewhat humurous / satirical drawings / paintings. He currently resides in Los Angeles and is married to another painter.

He's considered a prophet in Islam.

My take would be that the reference to "Jesus the Profit" is a jab at the churches and their monetizing the Christian religion. I would doubt it has much to do with Jesus and his role in the early trappings of Christianity.

Harrumph. 'Monetizing the Christian religion'. NO, they'd never do THAT...???

Brings to mind an accidental fact of my career, which I've always found amusing at least...

When most people go to church, they pay them. (offerings, donations, whatnot) When *I* go to church, they pay **ME**... ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

      >lol< My first thought was that someone finally got a good look at BigFoot’s face….then I read the drawing is by a famous artist so now I’m ashamed of myself….sort of. :-)
