From a slow arriving parcel to an unexpectedly fast one...this is one of two fine pieces of Victorian satin glass that arrived today.
This striking vase is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over shaded pink, with a white interior, & a distinctive texture of raised bumps. The four sided top rim has an unusual folded in crimp.
It measures 14.5 cm tall, 11 cm across the top rim, & 4.5 cm across the base, which has a neatly polished out pontil mark.
Possibly an example of Atlas glass by Harrach?
That is simply beautiful!! I may have mentioned it before, but your collection is over the top beautiful!!!!
Many thanks, Scott! It's really nice to think that my collection, which has been a rock for me over the decades, is a source of enjoyment to other folks, too!
It certainly is and the new piece is wonderful too. :)
Thanks also, Bernard!
The second satin piece is just about to be revealed...
Beautiful!
Thanks so much, vintagelamp!
