This Art Nouveau glass vase is an example of the Combed Relief decor by Kralik.
It is made from two layers of cased glass - milky opalescent with an amethyst interior, & has an all over swirling ribbed, almost labyrinthine texture. The vase measures 18 cm tall, 11.5 cm across the wavy four - way crimped top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
Nice color.
I love this series but have not seen this interior colour before, so a real pleasure, Marin.
Incredible vase!! I love the colors as well!!
An amazing interior colour!
Many thanks, artfoot!
I don't have a lot of purple glass in my collection, so this was a welcome addition...
Much appreciated, Peggy!
This is the first example of this decor I've ever come across, it was on eBay AU, a well - priced buy it now.
Thanks also, Scott!
Many thanks, Bernard - yes, it is a very unique & intense shade, I just love it!
An unusual piece, good acquisition.
Yeah, pay that for sure. Just lovely and I can't go past purple hues ever.
I thought we might see a glass-in-snow photo!
Stay warm and well, Delta is coming.
Much appreciated, Bambus1920!
Hi Karen, I did pop in a snow pic a couple of weeks back...
As for me, I'm fully dosed with Pfizer, so feeling pretty secure going forward.
Time to dust off my bespoke masks again...
Hopefully this outbreak can be sorted soon. I've heard that the Wentworth Park markets could be back on for August so fingers crossed that this situation doesn't ruin it, among other things...
