Here is an original poster adverting a one man art exhibit featuring the work of art student and former Beatle Stuart Sutcliffe. The show was held at the Barbizon Gallery in Glasgow Scotland from May 4-26,1990. Stu was born in Edinburgh Scotland on June 23, 1940. He was excepted at the College Of Art in Liverpool where he met John Lennon in 1957. Sutcliffe joined The Beatles as the bands bass player in January 1960. The Beatles spent months in Hamburg learning their craft playing up to 8 hours a night in the clubs! Stuart left the band in July 1961 and wanted to resume his art studies. He stayed on in Germany and went to school there. In early 1962 he began to have brutal headaches. Several trips to doctors showed nothing. The pain got worse...and Sutcliffe died from a brain hemorrhage at the age of 21 on April 10, 1962 in Hamburg Germany. He never lived to see The Beatles success...
How very sad. Such a handsome and talented young man. I’m giving the post a love, for the info - keeping this young man’s story alive.
Interesting story..
