Noticed on the floor in a corner while I was looking at (being shown more than just what was in) the frameful of necklaces..."oh yes, that's for sale"...?? <lolol>
I didn't ask about its missing top/tray, it wasn't laying right there and the price she quoted made me not care... ;-)
It is an old AMERICAN FAMILY SCALE. Original shiny black paint has been re-painted over most of its outside, around the original gold labeling on either side. Also intact the wonderful goldish detail design around its face, as well as the face and its lettering itself. The funnest part that caught my eye is the prominent engraved brass plaque under its face, reading "PHILLIPS & BUTTORFF MFG. CO. NASHVILLE, TENN." I don't know anything about who they were, yet, but ain't that a FUN NAME...?? <lolol>
