CELEBRITY NY - One of the Companies for Which DeLizza & Elster Manufactured Jewelry. The item is a pair of clip earring feature gold carved roses with clear rhinestone accents,

I found reference to this in the book “The Art of Juliana Jewelry” by Katerina Musetti, Chapter 19, Other Companies for Which DeLizza & Elster Manufactured Jewelry, Page 212/223 –

    Celebrity NY vintage costume jewelry
The American jewelry brand Celebrity /N.Y. has existed for a short period of time, from the mid-1950s to early 1970s in New York. However, the approximate time and exact place of creation of the brand are almost the only facts we know about it. It is absolutely clear that because of this, the opinions of experts also differ in the estimates of Celebrity jewelry.
So, Celebrity designers created bright jewelry, usually choosing rhinestones that are as close as possible to natural stones: amethyst, emerald, and ruby. As well as beads, almost indistinguishable from real pearls. According to the authors of the book “Fabulous Fakes: A Passion for Vintage Costume Jewelry”, all decorations made by Celebrity – handmade. Craftsmen manually inserted rhinestones and artificial pearls into intricate metal frames.
However, the “jewelry” origin of Celebrity jewelry is very mythical. Some of the products of this brand were indeed coated with gold or silver, but they were never precisely smelted from precious metals.
Like the owners of the Sarah Coventry and Emmons brands, Celebrity did not open boutiques. They distributed jewelry only at fashion parties, access to which was not for all. Thus, the company fueled interest in their “exclusive” jewelry, and secondly, could keep reasonable prices for products. In addition to stamped with the name of the company products, there are also unsigned decorations, marked with paper tags.
Celebrity produced jewelry in the early 1970s. Apparently, the owners of the company tried to confront the impending crisis. And in 1971, they even began to advertise their jewelry in fashion magazines, which, unfortunately, did not bring success.

Eileen - thank you for your kind words. This pair of was a surprise to me, when I saw the picture in the book , I thought "I have those earrings" - sure enough I did. The pair weight more that you might think, they measure only 1" Long x .5" wide , yet they are .7" thick and that's without the clip. They are really beautiful. Lori
