This little charmer arrived today, a balm to soothe the sadness of a harsh lock down.
This Victorian vase is made from a single layer of clear glass that shades from peach to clear, with a swirling ribbed pattern. It measures 16 cm tall, 10 cm across the very fancy palm - frond style top rim, & 5 cm across the base, which has a small, snapped off pontil mark (hidden by a piece of glued on felt, which I removed). The foot of the vase is integral, not applied.
The vase has applied decoration of two red cherries & a leaf trail in clear & pale yellow - green.
Possibly Bohemian origin. I have numerous pieces with applied decoration, & cherries are my favourite, but this one is quite different to any of those already in my collection...I think it's the top that makes it extra special.
The top is eye catching at once.Nice colour of the top and a flowery shape are really exceptional .
Love it! The applied cherries are my favorite as well!

Much appreciated, Ivonne! I agree, the top is magical...I'd just lost out on a Welz fairy lamp on eBay so I went & bought this as a consolation prize...
Thanks also, Scott! Gotta love those cherries!
I didn't see the welz fairy lamp, but I'd say you won big time with this purchase-- congrats!

Really gorgeous Victorian vase, lovely colors & cherries
Yes the applied leaves and cherries are are common to both of our collections but the top is different, brings lots of extra and contrasting colour. Love it!
Oh you have really found a gem, this is so pretty and detailed. Very nice. Does this illuminate under black light?
Very Noice one .. different then other fruity ones I've come across
Scott, the Welz fairy lamp was on eBay AU, so I'm not sure if it was listed internationally...a lot of sellers here aren't bothering with making their auctions available to overseas buyers anymore due to so few outbound flights.
It was a multicoloured spatter dome, larger size, with a crack. I bid as close to the end as I could manage but someone just beat me, though they had to pay big time for the privilege, LOL...
Many thanks, Jenni!
Thanks also, Bernard! I am all about the "extra" in glass & pretty much everything else in life! :-)
Thanks so much, Lori!
There is just a very faint glow from the yellow - green leaves, so not a significant uranium content...
Thanks also, Marty...yes, that difference is what made it a must - have for me!
Oh, this is outstanding!!
Much appreciated, Scott!
very very nice
Juuuust!. beautiful...love it!...
Many thanks, kivatinitz!
