This pocket knife was in this leather case. I never saw a knife in a purse-like closing case. This is very old and likely an antique. There are no names on anything, that I can see. Any information would be appreciated. Time period, who carried this-man or woman, etc.

The fact that you found the knife in this purse does not mean the purse is what it originally came in. Could very well be the previous owner married the two together to try preserving the knife and know where it is. Without a marking on either piece it may prove impossible to name a maker.

Thank you for your thoughts. I don't know what else that purse could be for. The knife fits perfect in there and the purse is only 3" long and less than an inch wide??
The purse is very old leather and is disintegrating. It is something that I never thought about though, and could be possible.

That's a Ladies knife with what looks like buffalo horn handle. Possibly Victorian era and some came with cases. Good find!
