Found in the dirt under an old house, both long since pre-rusted and ready to join my scrap metal collection. (somebody tell me again forzactly why I *have* one of those, please...?? <lol> ) One old steel helmet and one furnace duct damper valve.
The helmet still has one metal loop affixed for a strap (plus a spurious bit of baling wire) but the other side is gone leaving just a small hole. (pic 3) One reasonable dent also present smack dab in the center of its top (pic 4) complete with a couple small rust-thru spots where it must have held a little water there sometime.
The damper is just a sheet metal disc fixed to a bent steel axle/lever with small twisted bits of wire. It presumably used to be inside a duct which is no longer in existence.
No markings of any kind remaining on either. OK, maybe both are pretty boring, but oh well...rusty bits of odd whatnot require decidedly less maintenance than actual flowers in a 'flower garden' don't they...?? (is that my only reason?? <lolol>)
