Original Painted Hair GI Joe With Footlocker Full of Fine Finds

The contents of this was the exciting part of this buy. Not a huge amount of accessories but some uncommon and rare one. The ammo can for the tank commander the best perhaps. Also the German stick grenades, Australian Jungle Fighter knuckle knife and pilot clipboard. Also you can never have enough of the regular silver grenades. Flare guns and frogman flippers not so much.
The GI Joe has the larger and slightly softer head of the 65-68 Joes. Actually the heads on these Joes are the right size. But the earliest Joes used a different plastic that shrank a bit. There are a few examples of this that are extreme and are called pin heads. Then there are extreme examples of the other kind called gummies. This one is just right.
He is dressed in the Navy dress Jumper tunic with Navy bell bottoms. I am good on those now so I am thinking of making him a Green Beret as that is the correct time period figure for that uniform set.
