Nice little Art Deco Westminster from the early to mid-1930s. Typical of the type of clock to be found on many Australian mantles and shelves early to mid 20th Century. In as found condition and keeping perfect time and chime prior to service.
Beautiful ! The wood grain is so FABULOUS !
Thanks Alfie. They very carefully selected the veneers for maximum grain pattern impact, usually mirrored. Most are in this style and are Walnut, but you can still find examples in Burr Walnut, White Walnut and my favourite; Birdseye Maple. Many other species were utilized, some individual clocks use a number of different species veneers which can be spectacular. Each piece is an individual statement and no two clocks can ever be the same, much like fingerprints.
Thanks for the info. !
