This is made of brown, sewer-tile type clay. It appears to show a woman from Bretagne, France in traditional head gear. It's only about two inches tall and looks like it's from an old chess set or something. Any ideas?

Interesting item. I wonder if the opening in the bottom would fit over the cap of a bottle?

I was thinking the same as fhrjr2, she might be from the top of something, like a bottle, or sat on something once as decoration?

      Might be a candle snuffer.

too small for any of these, i think. the opening is only about .75 inches.
