Bitsnbobs123.a, I can see that there was a painter named William Edward Jones, but his lifespan is problematic, yes?:

FWIW, the name looks more to me like William Edward Johns. That surname might look a bit odd, but it's not uncommon in the UK. Like Jones, it's Welsh. An alternate version would be Evans.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any painters by that name. :-(

I have uploaded the only painting I could find, it’s on art net but I’m not a member so I can’t see how much it sold for.

      Cool. :-)

Yeah, the lifespan on this one is right.

I see that particular work (Sunday Morning in Clifton Bristol) sold in 2013:

I was hoping to find a sample of his signature, but no joy so far.

That site artnet dot com seems to have quite a few of his works:

Looks like "William Edward Johns" who probably was a local painter in Scotland. I'm not an expert, to me, he captured the windy day excellently.

There is one of his paintings pictured above,

Bitsnbobs123.a, Sorry, no, I am not a member of artnet dot com. :-(

Any time I feel compelled to create another username/password for an account somewhere, another little piece of me dies. >8-0
