Obviously the information on the back is not written in English. Maybe Russian or one of the slavic languages?
Found at a yard sale for .25 cents. Any information and knowledge that someone is willing to share with me on this type of art and or artist would be greatly appreciated.
Well for 25 cents (not .25 cents), you got a great deal. Can you tell us more about it? Is it a drawing? Is it 3-D art work made from birch wood?
I would agree - 3D and yes it is actually made with Birchwood.
I might as well apologize right now for any and all possible grammatical errors contained in my responses. Please hold your red pens at bay because I don't want to wear anyone out because with all due respect I am 100% sure you will identify more.
I can only make out some of the Russian words. At the top it says Kizhi (the name of an island). Under that it says “fragment bell tower,” a reference to the historic Kizhi Pogost site. At the bottom left it says Kolomna (a city) 93. The bottom right is probably a signature but unfortunately I can’t make it out. I hope this is of some help.
