The Hamburg American Clock Company was founded in 1883 from the partnership of Paul Landenberger and Philip Lang in Schramberg. Originally called Landenberger and Lang, became the Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik in 1891. Landenberger previously worked as business manager for Junghans (q.v.). In 1930 the HAC merged with Junghans. The trademark of two crossed arrows was registers in 1892. (This is not a Junghans clock)

I have had a fascination on how people woke up in the days of yore, I mean roosters aren't that reliable of a alarm clock, I purchased this alarm clock made by The Hamburg American Clock Company. This little clock is in great condition, the case is clean except for the movement door, which is understandable (the door has to be accessed to set the alarm).

The clock is 10" high, 8" wide, and 3" in depth.

If you wanted to get up at 2:00 PM, and it is 7:00AM to set the alarm, you would open the movement door and move arrow pointer on the knob to "7" on the numbered disk. (7:00 AM + 7 hours = 2:00 PM). After setting the hour at the dial, take the clock key and wind the right arbor, (a word of warning do not wind the alarm arbor fully, it is loud and will not shut off without moving the arrow on the number disk on the inside of the clock). The alarm bell and the clapper are located at the bottom of the clock.
