It may be WWII era but Ontario knife company made U.S. machetes to the best I have luck researching. They still make them today far as I know

Let me add this point of fact. I had a machete that my father-in-law used in the Pacific islands during WWII. Fact is his unit was never issued them. The other fact is Marines were issued them or brought one from outside military supply. So not all WWII machetes were actually government issue. The one I had was made in Wisconsin and I have passed it on to my son. Your machete could just WWII era which it was made then or if you can prove it then it may well be WWII machete used by a servicemen. My father-in-law got his in a swap deal with a marine.
