was dads. he was english. i dont know where he got this. any ideas? please. plays music when you spin the barrel. is it a black forest bear?
the spinner is loose inside but with manipulation i can get it to play. not a recognised tune for me. it has a small hole in the top. dont know why.i might have to try to open it and fix it, maybe some clues inside. the bears front leg is broken and lost unfortunately.

Hello..Nice! I went looking at images and though there are a few bears on music boxes, I did not see yours.
I'm thinking a 'Honey' theme here?? The color and isn't the bear sitting on a replica of a Honey stirrer?? I cannot recall the name of the utensil right now.

This isn't grooved deep enough to be a honey dipper but it could be a novelty item for a honey related product.

To me it reminds me of the old rattles kids used to have in their crib or a music box, just what it looks like. Parents would wind it up and kids had a handle to hold it.
