    I bought 5 Howitzer ammo crates dating from 6/69 to 7/74. They were full of vintage tools and mice droppings. I found this scribe (pretty sure that’s its purpose for early wood cutters?) from info I’ve found here. In the same crates I found pliers of a few different styles that all seemed to be from Germany. That just seems odd to me.

      It is a timber scribe for marking trees/logs

      Congcu, Do you happen to know the maker and maybe age of the scriber?

      Yours has no markings that I can see. Will be very difficult to attribute to a particular source. These are still being made by various manufacturers.
