    1915 NYC firehat ,given to me by my nephew,it was his great uncle on his fathers side Name is written in the inside , and its in really good shape all around ,leather ear flaps still in tact,and questions gregcharde@yahoo.com thanks,does anyone know if they have a firemans museum in or around the twin tower area in nyc...greg

      The helmet is not from 1915. That is the badge number of the fireman. The white 36 is Engine 36 Manhattan (located on 125th. St). This style front shield was used in the 1960s-1970s era.

      Love the helmet. Not to far away from ground zero. About 5 minutes to drive. Maybe 15 minutes to walk.

      railnsail is right...way newer than 1915 This is a Carins leather firehelmet Engine 36 Manhattan, a great find. Really nice helmet.
