Marx Springfield Model 1903 Cap Gun
This is a Springfield model 1903. I believe it's missing a bayonet? Has a little storage compartment on the right..maybe to store caps? You pull the bolt back and let go to fire a cap.
My sister found this at a garage sale. Knowing I love my guns, she bought it for me..she paid $3!
SPRINGFIELD .30 to .30-06
Initially, the 1903 Springfield was chambered in a new .30-03 caliber. The cartridge employed a rimless, necked-down case with a 220-grain round-nosed bullet that left the muzzle of the 24-inch barrel at some 2,300 feet-per-second (fps).
Though the round was certainly adequate for military work, when the Germans adopted a superior pointed spitzer bullet in 1904, the Americans followed suit with their own version that had a 150-grain cupro-nickel-jacketed bullet that boosted the older round's velocity by some 400 fps. The famed .30-06 was born. Existing guns were altered, and all new ones were chambered in the updated round."
TEDDY SAY, "NO CRAPP JUNK!"
"Also, the original 1903 Springfield was equipped with a integral rod bayonet. President Theodore Roosevelt took one look at the flimsy setup, had a fit, and the guns were altered with a shorter stock and more traditional front band that incorporated a stud for a 16-inch-bladed knife Bayonet."
Here's the link I got quotes from...its a Guns n Ammo article with lots of hood information..

niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee one dave...............
Want me to make it full auto 9m/m for you ? LOL !
BB2 - yeah ..You can do some Bubba-Smithin? Maybe a red dot, bipod, pistol grip and a can? Haha
Dav, give me an anvil in a well equipped shop and I'll make a smg in any cal. you want out of that anvil. Semi's are a bit more trouble.
That is very cool. Have not seen that one in person. That it comes with a case like that instead of a disposable card makes it.
BB2 A grease gun please in .45 cal.
Fort, I un-deactivated a grease-gun before I was 17. Simply cut the weld on the barrel-"nut", cut off 3/4" of barrel, rechambered it, re-throated it and voila ! Had a lot of fun with it and the local ATF agent was a good friend. Stens are much easier to make because the parts are too easy to get than make. Full auto blowback are easy. Semi is a B. This is why gun confiscation will never work in your State. Of course, I don't live in the States and laws are more lenient elsewhere. Also, they know I'm not a trouble maker.
When I was younger my friend..ummm I mean I heard this story about a guy who had a parts kit for a sten gun...750 rounds a minute, but those only had a 30 round mag. Fun to shoot...I mean I heard it's fun to shoot!
Nothing quite like that feeling, Dav.
