    (156 items)

I bought this 20-drawer cabinet at the Alameda antique show. It is a wider cabinet than Hamilton normally made, because its designed to hold wood cut artwork rather than type. The drawers were lined with the original paper, black from decades of ink. Gerry Billings helped me put it on casters, and Barry C. helped scrape out the drawers.

very nice potrero -- you inspired me to place a pic and share our printer's cabinet -- thanks for the info on hamilton -- they are a great resource along with their museum which we visited when we picked up ours -- use them as a resource when doing our restoration work for others

Wow! I have one single drawer from an old printer's cabinet. It was wired on the back to hang on a wall and I used to display miniatures in it.

I just bought a late 1800's Hamilton 20 drawer type tray complete with metal type. I want to restore it, but don't know if it will decrease its value or not. It's over 100 years old and looks it. It's dusty and hasn't had anything done to the finish or the brass handles that are now virtually black. Can I contact Hamilton about how to restore? Or someone else?
