A while back, vintagelamp posted an unusual glass hand vase which I also happen to have an example of in my collection.
It's been packed away for three years since I last moved, so it was time to get it out to share with you.
The form is based on a bisque porcelain hand vase holding a tulip with a beaded bracelet around the wrist, which I have a pair of...they are rather refined looking, whereas this specimen is a tad rough around the edges to say the least. After not seeing it for so long, it's grown on me, though. It's got an oddball factor that I enjoy.
The vase is made from a mix of a light golden amber glass with a clear base. It looks as though the two separate glass colours have been joined together at the wrist. It measures 21 cm tall, 4.5 cm across the cut top rim, & 8.8 cm across the base. It is also very heavy! At the top rim, the glass is around 1 cm thick.
No idea of where or when it was made. I bought it on US eBay several years ago.
It looks so much like the one I have. I love oddball...guess that it why I have one of these :). Thanks for posting!
My pleasure! Glad that you enjoyed it!
