It appears to be silver, but no markings. maybe a low-grade silver? it's kind of big at 5 inches across and it's weighted in the petiole part - the narrower part towards the top.

does anyone know what this is? piece of a stupa? maybe?
Maybe it's a mold...or in old factories, they would have an example of what was being produced and the workers could compare their pieces to make sure it looked the same.
Interesting piece. Hopefully we get some answers..

If it is weighted at its narrow end, maybe that's its 'bottom' instead?? The little 'nipple' there also strikes me as something that might have fastened to something else...but I certainly don't know what...??
My guess: could it be some part of a foodservice item??
i have no idea, but thank you for sharing your thoughts dav2no1, Cisum, and AO! there are marks on it which make me think that it is a hand wrought piece.
It appears to be white metal or pewter.
