There's nothing special at all about this 24" x 36" sheet metal sign, except to me, for its former location until very recently when I brought it home. On a plain (faded) brown background, the legend is (now slightly shrunken) plastic pressure sensitive lettering.
It so happens (and finally occurred to me) that it is (was) the only bit of signage, and nearly only bit of anything else besides the structure itself, still remaining of the *former* business that occupied the building where in turn the organ company I now don't work for anymore made our home for nearly 30 yrs, until last spring.
It was fastened to the inside of the fence in the parking lot -- one of the first things we did when taking over the building back then was to build an electric gate opener machine (out of a typical garage door opener) and modify the gate, making the parking lot *no longer* a public 'customer parking area'...but nobody ever bothered to take the sign down because nobody ever cared.
And so the other day when I was otherwise there (I still use the facility periodically, as do other former co-workers) I liberated it, to join my own sign collection instead. Now, nobody will ever notice... <sigh>
I’m glad you took it to a new home where it will be appreciated…..and bring back only good memories.
Decidedly mixed memories still, Pat...it ain't been that long yet really...the place just "feels a little off" now, even though 99.5% of everybody that's ever visited there in the last decade probably wouldn't be able to notice much of anything out of the ordinary...
Thanks SO MUCH to Watchsearcher, vetraio50, fortapache, vintagelamp, Alfie21, & dav2no1 for your comments and <love it>s!! I just added a new pic to show where I finally mounted this one on the wall outside paired up with my more recent DANGER sign! :-) :-) :-)
