I bought this in late 1960s from a second hand shop in Birmingham city centre, it ran on a pp4 9 volt battery which became obsolete in the early 1970s , dynatron was a high quality British radio manufacturer equal to zenith radio in the USA. It still works but I have to take the back off and run on a 9 volt pp9 volt adapter as it all won’t fit into the battery compartment it’s loose and occasionally cuts out so I have to move it about to get the radio stations again. It cost around £15 in 1962. Date stamp in lid is 1/61 or January 1961.
Thanks all for your interest.
Fyi batteries are still available, I have the same radio, ebay search "pp4 9v battery" or item number 256560272292 (June 2024)
