Here is an 8"W aqua blue glass fish made by Canada's Altaglass, with partially eroded vintage original label on underside. Altaglass was founded in 1950 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada by Czech glassmaker John Furch
Oh!.. lovely..do love fishy things..beautiful colour and great size!
It is a joyous fish!
The artists have given him a wonderful strong personality of someone to be heard !~
Great long tail on him! I’m not sure if there’s really a fish like him but he reminds me of those kinda elongated fish you see in old medieval manuscripts with the long tail wrapping around text, or even a water spout! his really bright blue color is so eye catching too :)
A Fantasically Marvelous color ! A Beautiful fish. Is it somewhat hollow ?
You have the most beautiful little creatures!
Many thanks everyone for the kind love

Thank you Penny for your wonderful praise, I'm so happy that you liked this fish - the blue is a great fish color and yes, the elongated shape is very cool & interesting, almost like a ship's bottle style
Karen it sure does look happy, from the pouty lips to round eyed wonder, this one was an unusual find in an upbeat aqua color. Thank you my friend for your terrific comment
You know Phil, he does look as though he is communicating & wants to be heard, maybe to tell the world he is a most pretty fella :) The glass artist did do a fine job here, thank you so much for your fabulous comment
Lauren isn't that a really long tail, and this guy certainly reminds me of a spouting fountain fish, great call! You have such excellent ideation and I thank you for your awesome comment
Thank you Alfie for your super praise and yes, this fish is hollow from mouth to tail, excluding fins. This makes me think of the water fountain idea, a creative person could put him inside one of those streaming water displays semi-vertically to splash water, wouldn't that be cool
vintagelamp thank you so much for your lovely & kind compliment about my animals, I try to represent as wide a variety of them as I can find so we all can enjoy. May I return the praise and say you too have beautiful animals esp dogs in your own amazing collection!
Many thanks guys for the thoughtful love

Beautiful! I cannot find Altaglass here in Alberta, and in your part of the world you have discovered this amazing piece. lol! Love it.
Hi Daisy!
Thank you for your super comments/loves tonite. You won't find Altaglass as they went out of business in 1988 (began in 1950) but there is a great history about them at albertaonrecord.ca, they employed so many talented international glassmakers. Have my eye on a couple more of their vintage animals for future posts, glad you liked this fishy
Thank you Bruce for the kind love for this blue glass fish & other posts today, it is truly kind of you and I'm always most grateful for your thoughtfulness & support
Thank you vintagelamp for the love for my blue glass Canadian fish, I'm very glad you liked it & grateful for the kind support
I do like this fish quite a bit. The effective use of one color is perfect. The fins are great. The mouth is awesome. I'm interested in Altaglass now, be looking into that. Thanks for showing this great piece.
Thank you Dean for your super praise & love for this fish, it is really well designed & I love that aqua color glass alot. Altaglass made some beautiful animals in various types of glass incl transparent, bullicante & sfumato, and are always in beautiful colors. I guess because it was a Canadian co (out of biz since the 80s) most sellers of these are from Canada, so you wait a little while for delivery, but they're always very worth it & I'm glad this fish sparked your interest
