I find this carving so interesting. it might be Indonesian, but the wood is extremely hard like ebony. It's very beautiful in a way. The feet are backwards to each other - one going in one direction and the other, the other direction. Very beautiful look to the alien face! I'd love to find out more about it. Thank you.

Looks to me like it might be carved from one of the Zebra wood species. That is an exotic hardwood. It carves, turns and finishes very nicely.
