What would Sunday be like without an art glass bowl (ashtray). There is 3 layers to this blue, then a thin layer of white topped off with a toffee yellow and then a clear coat overall. Unfortunately there is a couple of small bits of black that got in there when it was made but still a beautiful thing. I think maybe Barbini. 170mm wide by 68mm high so fairly substantial.

the workmanship is very poor, highly unlikely Barbini made it unless he has been reincarnated and now works in a factory in Asia

you don,t get it do you we are not here to burn down pieces , but to promote pieces and being moderate
    4. modfather modfather, 3 years ago
nobody is burning anything down ;-)

it was simply a comment about the attribution of the piece

if the owner likes the piece, that is all that is important

1stDibs, Chairish, Pamono..... are chock-full of mis-attributions or outright lies

I always thought of CW as where the old school experts posted ;-)

when money is involded , people become Faust, the structure of these companies is more complicated , sometimes they are just hosting, or an conglomeration business, sometimes they are on the top of the foodchain by means of an plethora of business liasons,

i am not an murano expert, i got some knowledge , but got the right high brow connections , and reasonable equipped, that is all

i can only assess the chinese porcelain niche branch, probably i am to big to fail
because the auctionhouses compensate me quite a lot of times if the attribution is wrong , and they are in trouble when they have to withdraw

i think the academical question is an scallop rim foliate mandatory in consistency with the quality , end of discussion, by the way i am not an expert , but i sell murano for 30 years
