Bought this trivet at a flea market in Petersburg, Va. in 1968. Through research over the years, I find that this item was given away as a gift at the last reunion of Confederate Veterans held in Richmond, VA. in 1922. I remember when these iron holders were still in use by my Grandmother. They typically were broken from years of use.
Just curious if anyone else may have one as I have not seen another, in my years of antiquing, since.

I have one of these commemorative trivets in my collection. It's also a popular collectible among Civil War memorabilia collectors. I've heard that they were sold during the UCV Encampment/Reunion in 1922 to raise funds for the construction of a Confederate States memorial monument.
