Hi
First time poster.
I came accross these two old tools they have a solid copper head with an indent and cavity which looks to be for holding something.
Have wooden handles and are about a foot and a half long. Neither has any markings of any description.
I would love to know what they are called and what they were used for.
Appreciate your help
Nice spider..
I would think they are soldering coppers, but with that unusual shape they'd have to be for some specialized application...what that is I don't have a clue...??
Thanks both for your comments.
I am sure the spider was dangerous when it was alive.......
Anything Obscure- I thought the same initially, but found it strange that these items have slightly rounded / curved head ends. It is sort of like the small cavity is used to engage a handle of some type, maybe a small smelting pot, and the to rotate it back and turn it to remove it from the heat.
However, I have no clue.
