Here is what was a most pleasant surprise this afternoon, when one of our friends stopped by and brought this with him -- he'd noticed that I collect signs (it's not difficult to do...?) and otherwise had this one laying around in his garage unused, so wondered if I would want it. SILLY QUESTION that... <lolol>
It is a nicely made 'almost vintage' (for such things, now usually made of plastic or cardboard and disposable) heavy-ish sheet steel sign measuring 18" x 24", punched holes at its corners for hanging (no ferrules) and painted safety yellow on the backside. I'd guess 1980's or newer, there are no maker's marks.
Pics 1 & 2 are 'as received' leaning against the truck wheel on the driveway, pic 3 is the new (probably) permanent home I found it while on my way into the house with it -- it never actually made it inside because this seemed a most perfect and proper place to display it, on the lattice panel immediately outside my kitchen door so everybody in/out will be forewarned...? <giggle>
The "Personal Protection Equipment Required" nowadays has a whole new meaning.
In the back bedroom there is an old No Parking sign my youngest son hung up on the wall years ago when he was a teen. I think he borrowed it from somewhere. Must be he took it on a long term loan :)
:) :) :) Good one !
THANKS MUCH to vetraio50, Watchsearcher, Alfie21, fhrjr2, fortapache, dav2no1, and Rocky2222 for your comments and <love it>s!!
Good point Alfie, it does -- and fhrjr, my first no parking sign came along years ago in a similar fashion, except that somebody else actually 'borrowed' it then left it behind in the back seat of my car...? ;-) ;-)
New pic added just now, I paired up my 'customer parking' sign on the wall beside it this afternoon. :-)
