This little clock is unique, it is made out of Bakelite. it appears in Leon Hatot's 1929 catalog and is described as,
"716 E...Nickel-plated face with polished visible parts. Luxury model, new material verrolythe, with parts transparent and black and chrome parts.....775 francs".
The little clock is in perfect running order. The face of the clock has issues, Bakelite has the tendency to shrink over time, the metal backing of the face prevents the Bakelite from shrinking so it cracks, this shrinking only effected the the front only since there was no other metal to stop the rest of the clock from shrinking. The sides are transparent and show the clock movement in action.
very nice clock! is that green glo really what it looks like at night?
