This pair of cast iron weights are marked 'ABF', thus likely originated with the trucking company of the same name, whose headquarters are located in Ft. Smith AR. I think they still go by ABF on their trucks anyway, which is abbreviation for 'ARKANSAS BEST FREIGHT', their roughly 1950's common name, now slightly changed. (again)

Shown with a Pepsi can for size reference, each is blank on the side without the lettering on it, they probably weigh 75lbs apiece. (though I haven't actually put them on a scale) YES, their weight (only) exceeded the strength of the aluminum can... (pic 3) I'm not certain what they would have been used for specifically, other than 'adding weight' to something...?? Now, they'll add some more weight to my rust garden I guess...?! ;-) ;-) :-) :-) :-)
