Carved Ivory Shou Symbol

this piece is a bit over 3 inches across. I think it's ivory. i found it in the trash the other day. it was in a box with a lot of interesting beads in it - left on the corner of my nursery. i'm curious if it is ivory, what kind of ivory would be this big and round? i guess walrus and elephant. i despise the ivory trade!
