When I showed most of my FORD keytags a little while ago I knew I was missing one -- then finally came across it again the other day in a boxful of stuff that got itself a little buried...I certainly don't have any idea how THAT could happen around here...??? <lol>

Shown here as still hooked to some keys, it is a solid brass representation of the FORD logo, engraved and filled with black. (instead of blue) Now only chipped a bit and generally not 'polished' any more, it was shinier when I bought it brand new somewheres nearly 40 yrs ago, probably on the occasion of one of my then newest Ford vehicles. Doesn't look half bad now, considering...mebbe I should add it back to my 'daily ring'?? :-)

Also re-found recently, an original uncut FORD 'emergency key'. These were provided with the owners manuals of 70's-80's (roughly?) new FORDS, designed to be a credit-card sized thing to be tucked into a wallet "in case the keys got locked in the car", in the era just before little pushbutton remote control fobs took over to get us into and out of things. This one remains unused, the pointy end of it would be detached from the plastic card (while leaving the other end alone) so it could be cut like the actual metal key then folded back together to fit in a wallet. In reality I believe they were enough to actually unlock or start a car *just a few* times before being naturally eaten by the locks, but did apparently function as intended. It has a maker's name molded into it: "AXXESS" by ENTRY TECH. INC. of Tempe, AZ.

THAT emergency key is a nice thing to have. Someone was creative over there at Ford.
