Picked this up at my favorite antique mall in Orange. It was a bag of for vintage bars of soap. I was able to track down the Ivory Soap package to being from the 1950s. Not certain about the others but it is either 1950s or 0960s.
The Ivory Soap and Dove bring back flashbacks of the endless commercials for these products. Ivory soap floats. Might help a bit in the tub but I have never cared if it floats or not. I am certain it is a fine soap.
Now Dove keeps you cleaner than soap. I will stick my glasses in this sink full of soap suds. Ew a soap film. Now in this sink full of Dove suds. No soap film! Despite seeing that commercial 5 million times this is my first bar of Dove which isn't soap.
Conti Soap I do not recall but it is expensive now. And I got two bars. These vintage bars and the others cost what new ones cost now.
Finally in my display in the downstairs bathroom. Downstairs is a bit mid century modern. Please do not use any of my vintage soap if you go down there.
hey there - isn't the shape of the DOVE soap more oval today, I don't know when they started sealing the bar in plastic and stopped using the boxes, that might give you a place to look. ??
Thank you very much RichmondLori. That is a good idea I will check that out.
