here is another brooch from my collection. this Large Clear Rhinestone Brooch is unsigned, I have kept it hoping to ID the artist, with no luck so far. It definitely has great features and construction, all stones are hand prong, and look at the large center stone - dog-tooth prongs. the reverse side is a brilliant setting, like some of the high end pieces from D&E, Kramer or Sherman. I just have not been able to find another to compare ( not even a close ) it too. Anyone have suggestions?
UPDATED PHOTOS
Gorgeous, but the pixel camera seems to have some trouble to read the big stone in the centre of this sunflower style jewel. The old style camera would maybe do a better job but they have to have perfect conditions too. Very nice piece with all the hounds teeth guarding that big stone !~
Beautiful! Difficult to see some of the stones, though — sometimes the reflection creates problems with these high sparkle clear crystals. I think I have something very close to this brooch in non-clear. Mine is unsigned, as well. I thought it might be a Sherman when I bought it. And it was discovered in Calgary, Alberta. I’m not so sure of the maker, anymore, though, as none I have seen that are exactly like mine are signed. I might post it, along with a close approximation signed Sherman, to show you, since we cannot leave photos in these comments. Yours is beautiful.
Thank you Phil and Daisy for your comments and advice. I have edited the photos and hope the new one is clear. would love to see your brooch Daisy. I was understanding that all SHERMAN were marked, however, I think that would explain things if there were some unsigned pieces out there. Lori
Stone is much better seen now, thank you !~
Searching - the stone does have a high center - its flat. not sure I would call it inverted, but this piece is well made "high end" as they say, and the Hound tooth prongs are not ordinary to just any designer. I would love to have one of Schreiner in my collection... I will research that information. thank you Lori
