Saw one hummingbird in the wild when we were in LA in 96, was only in front of us for maybe 1/2 a minute, Her Indoors said did you take a photo...."no" I replied if I had spent the time getting my camera out and all the other stuff you had to do with an SLR I wouldn't have been able to have watched this beautiful thing as it zipped backwards and forwards in front of us.
We were waiting for a bus in front of the hotel so not really in tourist mode camera out yet.

Really nice amber color, when I seen hummingbird I immediately expected a deep green color but the lovely amber is awesome too! I also love the pose, like she IS sipping from flowers!

Thank you so much B. for your fabulous comment about your hummingbird sighting, I too have ever only caught fleeting glimpses as they are so fast & small. In my Long Island NY area many people hang hummingbird feeders filled with sweet nectar or grow tubular flowers to attract their long beaks, but still they are the most elusive bird. Better luck to see them on a NatGeo documentary, one I watched showed them in slow motion and they are so gorgeous, esp with green or red iridescent bodies

Thank you Lauren for your wonderful comment, yep green is especially the most popular color for hummingbirds but glad you liked the amber, which is a bit honey colored so perhaps apropos for these nectar loving birds! And the pose has it very definitely diving for its flower food, great observ as always

Sean thank you so much for your awesome compliment, I'm truly glad you enjoyed this golden hummingbird as my favorite type of glass animal is always any type of bird

Thank you Phil for your super praise, yes this hummingbird has been captured in its perpetual motion pose, I think Fenton got it right here. I really like the sculpting of the wings and eye definition, and the base has a very natural look. Fenton made such a wide variety of glass animals in a bevy of different colors, there are still many others I am hoping to acquire
