I purchased this slide rule in the late 60's and thought I'd do some research on it. There are a lot of 1460 Versalog slide rules around but I haven't been able to find any references to the the number stamped, not printed, on the end face under the Post Logo - 825 272. (See Photo). I believe this refers to the serial number but I haven't able to confirm this on any website.

I would greatly appreciate any information and/or assistance anyone can provide concerning this.

    Thank you.

You are probably using the wrong search terms. Here is a site that will explain it. Your rule was made after 1951 and don't expect a windfall if you are planning to sell it. You may have paid more for it new than you can get today for it, depending on condition.

Thanks for the information. I have no intention of selling it. It is in very good condition. I was just curious about the number. I am actually going to show it to my granddaughter who is more into computers than slide rules just to see how she reacts.

Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.
