Here's another from yesterday's furniture rescue mission -- this one is a small round three-legged table, probably meant to hold a plant or a vase or some similarly sized thing. I believe it is walnut, its turned column has three legs and a pair of brackets under the top that are decorated with a carved accent design. The top is polished stone (marble? granite?) fixed to wood parts underneath and framing it on top, pic 4 shows that it has apparently 'tipped over' somewhere along the line, so now part of the wood frame has broken away from the rest -- that's the only real damage, which would seem like it should be rather easily repairable. With that broken piece the edge of the stone itself can be seen, I find it interesting how roughly 'cut' it is. The top is a foot or so across, I didn't specifically measure it.
Like the other pieces, I don't know any of its actual history including exactly how old it could be, but again like the others I'm not having any problem guessing it to be a hundred years (more?) old. PLEASE leave me a comment if you have any better ideas about its purpose, era, style, or anything else?!!
