1981 Seattle Supersonics Autographs
While searching for my tax tokens to post. I found several items. These are a couple autographs. Today is a perfect day to post these since..
"The city of Seattle is honoring SuperSonics legend Lenny Wilkens by renaming a street near the Seattle Center." Wilkens was the coach of the Sonics.
1981 Supersonics Gus Williams and John Johnson
At the time, my father was working for Boeing. The company used to do Boeing night for employees and families. I remember they gave out frisbees with candy saran wrapped in them. This game was one of those nights. Houston Rockets vs Seattle Supersonics. Sonics won the game 117 to 110.
After the game I was able to get these autographs. I worked for Boeing a year ago..they don't do cool stuff like this anymore.
GUS WILLIAMS
"Gus Williams is a retired American professional basketball player most noted for his play with the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics, with whom he was a member of the 1979 NBA championship team. Known as "The Wizard", he also played for the Golden State Warriors, Washington Bullets and Atlanta Hawks."
JOHN JOHNSON
Died- January 7, 2016 (aged 68)
"In 1977, Johnson was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics and was reunited with former Iowa Hawkeye teammate Fred Brown.
Johnson was a key contributor for Seattle, who went to the NBA Finals in 1977–78 and won an NBA championship in 1978–79 while possibly becoming the first point forward in league history as he was the player who more often set the plays for the Sonics rather than their star guards Dennis Johnson and Gus Williams."
