    I have been very busy trying to get all of my new plants planted while the weather is still fairly good (and not going to too many antique stores). I have several plants left to plant and I hope that I make it before it is too late. Tons of bulbs also planted for next Spring. I hate Winter, but the thought of beautiful plants in Spring and Summer seem to get me through all of the dreary days...
    This is a poem that I wrote about a garden. It was published in "Country Victorian" magazine:

    Jane's Garden

    An overgrown path
    Leads me back to Jane's garden;
    A barren iron trellis
    -An old rusted gate...
    A scent from the past beckons me to Jane's garden;
    Though my heart beats a century too late...
    My mind does imagine
    A garden of beauty;
    With colorful flowers
    Of simplistic grace...
    A phantom breeze lures me
    Deep into Jane's garden;
    Though nothing is blooming,
    I do smell a trace...
    Of lilacs and roses...
    Sweet ghosts of an era
    Gone long before I was born;
    'Tis these things I sense
    In Jane's vanished garden;
    Along with the perfume she'd worn...
    Her long dress still rustles
    -There deep in the garden;
    Her haunting voice still sounds the same...
    I left some fresh flowers
    For Jane, in the garden,
    On the tombstone
    That still bears her name.

      Your garden is absolutely beautiful, every plant & flower so lovely - particularly nice is the bench next to the stone wall with the new additions awaiting planting. What a sweet poem, wonderful thoughts of a bygone age & no wonder it was published, congratulations!

      What a touching poem and your garden is beautiful! Wait until it wakes up in the Spring. I hope you show us then.

      Dawnlady,
      TY! I planted tons of bulbs and working slowly towards a cottage garden. Just moved to this house, so I have much more to do. I will add photos in the Spring.

      Such a lovely poem, a tribute to your "Jane" I presume? Oh how I envy folks like you that are able to actually make flowers and plants grow...myself I'm usually only successful at turning green things into dead brown leaves :-( so I settle for fun rocks and rusty iron things instead -- *so* much easier to "grow" those?!! <LOL>

      AnythingObscure,
      I love rocks and rusty iron things also. Anything different and unusual gets my attention. I just go with what I like. Appreciate your comments:)
