Here's a punchbowl set with tray and 12 cups plus a ladle, all in silverplate. (AFAIK) The tray is stamped ONEIDA with their crest and the bowl has a sticker with their name (pic 4) while the cups are unmarked, the ladle is not by Oneida by its stamp (not shown) reading "E P ZINC CHINA". It all needs polished though I'm unlikely to do that until/unless I ever need it for anything, which could easily be never...?? ;-) :-) The tray is engraved with a fancy pattern that doesn't show up well with all the dust also on it, the weird parallel lines in the tarnish on its underside (where the stamp is) are because of past storage sitting on a wire shelf. I have not tried to research it for its pattern name or age, because I don't really think its anything terribly old or unusual in any way. (but I do know Oneida has made *lots* of stuff over the years, thus it would probably mean scrolling thru hundreds of pics/etc to find out any more...?)
Just one more thing I've ended up with, that I'm gonna havta find a different shelf (box?) to live on/in... ;-) :-)
There was a time, maybe around the ‘60s, that a punch bowl set was important to have.
Yours is an especially pretty one….and to still be complete with the cups and a ladle- very nice. :^)
Thank you for the kind comment Watchsearcher! I do remember that my Mother had a fancy glass punchbowl set back then, also a stack of 'hostess plates' (?) that kinda went with it, having little molded corner spots to hold the cups. I've now got a set or two of those as well (not Mom's) and likewise little or nothing to do with 'em but 'keep them'...?? <groan><lol>
More THANKS to vetraio50, Newfld, Watchsearcher, Vynil33rpm, fortapache, and dav2no1 for your <love it>s! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Love it! Don't see them much anymore...
