This one found somewhere in a church closet or attic or corner somewhere where there was also an organ blower or mechanical equipment nearby -- people love to stack boxfuls of crap in places like that which we (I) often insist must get moved elsewhere (anywhere?!) once discovered. ;-) :-) If I had to guess, which is actually all I can do, I'd bet this little box fell from a larger one that would have held x-mas decorations and material -- that sort of stuff is by far the most common offender, and the box now holds little beads and stuff.
It first held 24 "CHILDRENS SUCRETS cherry flavored lozenges", made by QUINTON COMPANY of New Jersey. Printed info is on the inside and underside but specifically *not* a UPC barcode anywhere, so this one must have been made and sold late 1960's or so. I think I remember being given these for sore throat and cough when I was a kid, and I think I remember that they worked -- but I'm not sure if they're still available now or not...?
Wow..I'm old..I too remember Sucrets
Nice !
I think I have an empty Sucrets box in my sewing drawer....full of straight pins.
