Hello Folks.
It will soon be 2022. Time sure does fly, doesn't it? Today, I would like to share a Seth Thomas Chime No. 70 Mantel Clock from circa 1928.
The general shape of the case is called a "Gothic Arch". This model plays the Westminster Chime and strikes the hour on five tuned Mayland Chime Rods. The movement is the original Seth Thomas 8-day No. 113.
The main wood is Ribbon Mahogany with a simple, distinctive light wood marquetery pattern.
There is a link the a YouTube video below if you would like to hear the Chime and Hour Strike.
Hope you enjoyed our Chime No. 70!
Thanks for stopping by to take a look.
