US M7 Milpar Bayonet With M8 Scabbard Vietnam War Era

This bayonet was made by Columbus Milpar in the 1960s and 1970s for the M16 rifle. Oddly it has the the M8 scabbard instead of the M8A1. The earlier M5 bayonet uses the M8A1 scabbard.
The ancestor of this bayonet was made for the M1 Carbine. Same blade but different handle and attaching points. The blade is just under 7" long which is a handy size for a knife. Older bayonets were about a foot long or longer. The typical uses for these are mundane, But it is still quite good for poking people.
In the last photo I have it with its Korean War counterpart the M5A1 which was for the M1 rifle. Winston Churchill hated all the M names for American equipment. Go figure.
