Here is a 4"W amber glass Scottie type dog with bow on neck, part of the Parlour Pup series by Imperial Glass. This special commemorative issue dog has the raised letters NIGCS (National Imperial Glass Collector's Society) and year '83 imprinted on lower body
The bow!!
Delicious.
Very sweet- AND she’s also the color of whisky which is really appropriate given what she is! :D She’s got a little slightly domed head that brings to mind a golden cocker spaniel(it’s her color too though!) But when you say commemorative, what does she commemorate?!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for the thoughtful love

Karen thank you for your terrific comment, yes the bows on all the parlour pups (I have 2 others, there were 4 different ones made) are a really cute feature and pretty unique for the glass dogs I've found. In real life, smaller dogs look so adorable with bows, esp the tiny ones that wear them to keep the hair out of their eyes
Thanks Lauren for your fabulous observant comment, you are right Imperial gave this Scottie a domed sort of head which is unusual, perhaps a composite dog - another of their parlour pups is a bulldog which is also an atypical bulldog, so designer's choice I imagine. This reissued dog was made for the National Imperial Glass Collector's Society (NIGCS, as on imprint) which began in 1976 and reissued special vintage pieces yearly, so I can only guess that because the four Parlour Pups were created in the early 1950s, this commemorative could have been for its 30yr anniversary. Glad it came in this transparent amber-brown (whiskey is a good choice) as alot of them came in the marbled slag glass & I like this type better
Searching thank you for your super kind praise & you're so right, dogs are constantly putting their tongues out panting so it's pretty realistic! Always appreciate your creative input
Thank vintagelamp for your wonderful fun comment, I hoped you would enjoy this doggie as it's about the style of your adorable terrier pups - I'm always happy to find a glass dog to represent your fave animal, hopefully more to come....
Bruce thank you so much for your kindness loving this glass dog & other of my animals, you are especially nice and I am so very grateful for the thoughtful support :)

Thank you Glenn for your super comment & love for this puppy, he looks the eager to please type with tongue out & tail wagging! Your bulldog in your profile pic is so cute, I had a beagle growing up we loved her. You stay warm too, winter is definitely here time to bring out our down coats :)
